AB International Consulting Services (ABICS) started in 1990 in Norman, Oklahoma. Since then, we’ve been helping professionals around the world—like in the USA, Russia, Mexico, Canada, India, Qatar, and Nigeria—by offering practical training and expert advice.

We believe learning should be hands-on and useful. That’s why our programs mix clear explanations, real-world examples, and interactive activities. The Team

Meet Our Lead Consultant

Professor Adedeji Badiru

Professor Adedeji Badiru is the Lead Consultant and Managing Partner at ABICS. He has decades of experience as an educator, author, administrator, mentor, and speaker. He is Dean Emeritus at the Graduate School of Engineering and Management, U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). While serving as AFIT Dean, he was responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing operations related to granting doctoral and master’s degrees for the U.S. Air Force.

Previously, Professor Badiru served as Professor and Head of Systems Engineering and Management at AFIT, Professor and Department Head of Industrial Engineering at the University of Tennessee, and Professor of Industrial Engineering and Dean of the University College at the University of Oklahoma.

He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE), a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and a Fellow of several prestigious institutions, including the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE), the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society (IEOM), the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS), and the Nigerian Academy of Engineering (NAE). He is also a Program Evaluator for ABET and holds a leadership certificate from the University of Tennessee Leadership Institute.

Professor Badiru holds a BS in Industrial Engineering, MS in Mathematics, and MS in Industrial Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, as well as a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida. His areas of interest include mathematical modeling, systems design and integration, project management and optimization, innovation management, and productivity improvement.

He is a prolific author with over 40 books, more than 35 book chapters, over 145 journal and magazine articles, and more than 200 conference presentations. He is a member of numerous professional associations and honor societies. As a world-renowned educator, Professor Badiru has received several awards for his contributions to teaching, research, administration, and professional practice.

Notable awards include:

  • 2009 Dayton Affiliate Society Council Award for Outstanding Scientists and Engineers (with commendation from the 128th Senate of Ohio)

  • 2010 ASEE John Imhoff Award for global contributions to Industrial Engineering Education

  • 2011 Federal Employee of the Year Award (Managerial Category) from the International Public Management Association, Wright Patterson Air Force Base

  • 2012 Distinguished Engineering Alum Award from the University of Central Florida

  • 2012 Medallion Award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers

  • 2015 National Public Service Award (Air Force-level winner) from the American Society for Public Administration and the National Academy of Public Administration

  • 2016 Outstanding Global Engineering Education Award from IEOM

  • 2013 Father D.J. Slattery Excellence Award from Saint Finbarr’s College Alumni Association – North America

Professor Badiru is also the book series editor for the CRC Press/Taylor & Francis Series on Systems Innovation. He has served as a consultant and conducted training workshops for organizations worldwide.

His professional service includes work as a technical project reviewer, curriculum reviewer, and proposal reviewer for organizations such as:

  • The Third-World Network of Scientific Organizations (Italy)
  • Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada
  • National Science Foundation
  • National Research Council
  • American Council on Education

He also serves on editorial and review boards for several technical journals and book publishers. Additionally, Professor Badiru has worked as an Industrial Development Consultant for the United Nations Development Program.

In 2011, he led a research team that developed analytical models for Systems Engineering Research Efficiency (SEER) for the U.S. Air Force. He also led a multi-year, multi-million-dollar research collaboration between AFIT and KBR Aerospace Group.

Outside his professional work, Professor Badiru has diverse creative interests. He writes motivational poems, editorials, and newspaper commentaries, and also enjoys painting and crafts. He often writes about social responsibility and interpersonal relationships.
